As described above, Content Controls are integrated into Pathagoras' Instant Database system. But you can also use Content Controls as a quasi-indexing, quasi-bookmarking system. You can place a Content Control anywhere in your document, perhaps to mark where you want to add some free-hand prose. Instead of scrolling your document to find that control, you can just pick the desired Contol one from the list and go directly to it.

If your document is long, and if the 'coloring' of the content controls is subtle, or you just what to know the purposes of a document's Content Controls, you can create a list of those Controls. Using the list you can quickly navigate to a particular control.

This page of the Manual for how to create a list of the various Content Control in a document. But (as is typical), Pathagoras makes even that process easier. Just type 'cc<Alt-G>' on a blank line and Pathagoras will display a comprehensive menu. Select the Create List option.
