DDL of a List of words or phrases

As a variation of 'Variables Lists' discussed above, you can save a list of words or short phrases into a Word document. Upon command, Pathagoras will read the list and display the individual words in a DropDown List for selection.

So what are some examples of such lists?

Hard to spell words (or simply words you don't want to spell-out, but would rather just click in).

Inventory  items (e.g., all Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream flavors)

Statutory citations

Stock (short) answers to discovery

Names of entities you need to recall (or be reminded of) and quickly insert.

The 'Lists' discussed here are easily created (type the list manually, or copy and paste from other sources). Your goal is to end up with a document of words or short phrases, one per line, that you want displayed in a DropDown List for easy insertion into a future document. Save the list anywhere you choose.

When you are ready to create the DropDown List from this document, click on the DropDrop Down Lists item in the Pathagoras Features menu.

Select the 'More Choices' option from the first page of the DDL Wizard

When prompted, navigate to and select the document which contains the list. Pathagoras will then quickly reads each line of the document and create the new DropDown List. The resultiong DropDown Lists displays the exact text contained in the document, one item per line.

informationWhile there is no set length to how long a item in the List can be, just keep in mind that the DropDown List can only display words/phrases within the finite width of the List based on your computer and settings. We suggest words/phrases < 60 characters.

To edit the list, simply open the Word document containing the list (you can do so from the DropDown List itself). Make desired changes and then 'Refresh' the list.
