Q. What does Pathagoras for Excel cost?

A. Currently nothing, and until we have formally published it and declare a price, it will be free to all owners of Pathagoras for Word. It is also available for a free 90 trial.

Q. How did you come up with the name Pathagoras and what does it mean?

A. ‘Pathagoras’ is wordplay on the name of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras (and is pronounced the same, with the accent on the second syllable: Pa-THA-go-ras). Pythagoras was a 1st Century B.C. Greek philosopher best known for the famous mathematical theorem attributed to him. More importantly to this program, Pythagoras believed that the essence of all things is number, that all matter was essentially numerical, and that all relationships in the universe could be expressed numerically.

Pathagoras, the program, derives its name from this remarkable thinker. Its original function, as expressed in its PathSmart module, was to express complex and unwieldy DOS path names numerically. That ‘numbers-based’ philosophy is still the foundation upon which all subsequent versions of the program depend.

Q. Who is the program's author?

   A. I won't waste space in this manual (or ink, if you are printing it) with the details, but if you really want to know, you can read a bit about the author of Pathagoras (me) at www.pathagoras.com/AboutMe.htm.
